Pol.Pree Orders Investigation into Good Deeds Foundation and Others, Supports Donor Rights to Oversight  Thairath English

Pol.Pree has ordered the Department of Provincial Administration to investigate the Good Deeds Foundation and other foundations, supporting donors' rights to oversight. He revealed the Department of Lands is reviewing after rumors surfaced that Boom "Gun Jomphalang" purchased the land where the foundation is located.

At 09:00 on 3 Nov 2026 at Montathip Hall, Udon Thani province, Pol.Pree Suwanchawi, Deputy Minister of the Interior, spoke about demands to investigate the Good Deeds Foundation of Boom Panadda Wongpudi. He said that foundations and organizations already have regulations on annual meetings and financial reporting. He has instructed the Department of Provincial Administration and relevant agencies to conduct inspections. The investigation is not limited to Boom Panadda's foundation but includes others with complaints. He expects to receive numbers by this evening or 4 Nov, emphasizing thoroughness due to public interest. The case of land purchase for the foundation will also be examined.

When asked about rumors that the land for the Good Deeds Foundation was purchased by Gun Jomphalang, Pol.Pree said he heard similar reports and wants to verify if the foundation received the land as a donation and whose name the land is registered under. The Department of Lands is currently investigating, and he expects answers by this afternoon.

Asked about Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapan's suggestion that foundations should publicly disclose information since donations come from the public, Pol.Pree agreed. He understands that foundations are created to help people, often with volunteers as intermediaries. However, when receiving public donations, donors should have the right to review or audit usage. He will review regulations of the Department of Provincial Administration to see what amendments or ministerial regulations can be made. More complex legal changes, like royal decrees, would take longer and require parliamentary approval. He affirmed that donors have the right to know how their money is used, addressing long-standing public concerns. Some cases may involve misuse, which requires investigation. All complaints will be thoroughly examined without exception to reassure the public.

When asked if the registration of associations and foundations could be more strictly controlled to prevent easy registration, Pol.Pree said that since this government took office, many outdated laws have been identified. He has urged the Ministry of Interior to update or amend these laws with a forward-looking approach for the next 5 to 10 years. He prefers comprehensive reform now rather than having future governments repeatedly amend laws every few years.
