Police step up security at BRAC University after bomb threat - Prothom Alo English
After the bomb threat, police were deployed in the area adjacent to the back gate of Brac University in the capital on Monday.Photo: Tasin MazharThe Brac University authorities has filed a general diary (GD) at Badda Police Station after receiving an email of bomb threat on the university campus in the capital.
Subsequently, police security has been strengthened on the university campus in the Merul–Badda area, as stated by Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Md Nasirul Amin.
According to the police, Brac University authorities received the threatening email around at 6:45pm on Sunday.
The message was sent from an email address named ‘TypicalChineseman@gmail. com’.
The email threatened multiple bomb attacks on the campus on Tuesday, stating, 'What is about to happen, none of you can stop'.
When asked about this, Badda Police Station OC Kazi Md Nasirul Amin told Prothom Alo, "After the university administration filed the GD, we have strengthened security there. We have not yet identified who issued the threat. We are investigating the matter."
