Poor conduct ‘derailed’ Parly ad hoc committee’s ability to complete report: chair - EWN
Parliament's police ad hoc committee chairperson, Soviet Lekganyane, said the poor conduct of some members has "derailed" the committee’s ability to complete its report on time.
He said the ad hoc committee probing allegations of police corruption will now request another extension as it struggles to finish its draft report on time.
The committee had until Friday to conclude its draft report before sending it to the National Assembly for adoption.
It met on Thursday night to continue deliberations on its long-overdue draft report.
“But let us also focus on the business of the committee because there are some unnecessary things that derail us in our meeting, where we end up not finishing the work that we must do because of our conduct and attitude.”
