PPCRV logs 95% precinct coverage in partial BARMM count

Corrales/Inquirer Mindanao MANILA, Philippines — Just minutes before Tuesday, the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) had received results from 4,968 of 5,212 voting precincts, or 95.32 percent, in its partial, unofficial parallel count of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.

The PPCRV dashboard recorded 1,816,320 total votes as of 11:56 p.m. Monday, with results from 244 precincts still not reflected in its count.

The Special Geographic Area (SGA) had the highest vote completion rate among the areas at 99.63 percent, followed by Maguindanao del Sur at 98.98 percent and Tawi-Tawi at 98.93 percent.

Lanao del Sur had a completion rate of 96.60 percent, while Maguindanao del Norte stood at 93.49 percent. Basilan had the lowest completion rate among the areas with reported figures, at 82.21 percent.

The figures are partial and unofficial and may still change as more precinct results are received and reflected in the PPCRV’s parallel count.

The Sept. 14 polls were the first parliamentary elections in BARMM, with nearly 2.4 million registered voters choosing representatives to the region’s 80-member Parliament.

The Parliament consists of 40 regional party representatives, 32 district representatives, and eight sectoral representatives. /cb
