LONDON – Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are pulling their children out of their new school.

Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, started at their new school in Britain just days ago but are now having to switch to another one amid ongoing security concerns.

The Sussex family moved back to Britain last month after six years in the United States.

“The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements," a representative for the couple told USA TODAY on Monday, Sept. 14.

"The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family," the representative said. "This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there."

Hello! Magazine, citing sources close to the couple, reported that there was no issue with the school itself, but that problems were already beginning to emerge when it came to the school drop-off and pick up.

The couple lost their taxpayer-funded security shortly after they announced they were retreating from their roles as senior royals in 2020. They currently use a small private security firm, which has been under strain since their return, the magazine reported.

Heavy traffic in the area of the school has made it difficult for the Sussex convoy to stay together, the magazine reported. Harry, 41, has long cited concerns for his family's safety.

The children are expected to start at another school in the area soon.

Now that they've relocated, the Sussex couple are expected to receive an official risk assessment imminently, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The news comes a day after Meghan, 45, shared a string of photos to Instagram on Sept. 13 showing a rare glimpse of what their new life away from California looks like. The photos showed the family fishing, walking in woodlands and wearing raincoats and wellington boots.
