Quebec City man charged with threatening to kill Mark Carney on social media, promoting hatred

The RCMP said in a media release on Friday that Ousmane Bah, 45, from Quebec City, has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to a person, including the prime minister. He has also been charged with promoting hatred against an identifiable group.

The RCMP say he made the remarks using his Facebook account. 

The force says their investigation began in the summer, on July 6. Bah appeared in court in Quebec City on Sept. 24, and will remain in custody at least until his next court appearance, on Oct. 1. 

Earlier this month, RCMP officers in Alberta arrested a Calgary resident and accused him of threatening to kill Carney as well.
