Queensland teenager charged with preparing to cause harm - ABC News & Headlines – Australian Broadcasting Corporation

A teenager has been charged with preparing to cause death or grievous bodily harm, and possessing violent extremist material in the Wide Bay region. 

The boy has also been charged with possessing a knife in a public place. 

Police allege he planned to threaten people in Maryborough.

Counter-Terrorism detectives raided a property at Maryborough late last month and seized several electronic devices. 

The boy is expected to face Brisbane Childrens Court today. 

Police said there is no threat to the public and investigations continue. 

"There is no place in Queensland for hate and violence, and everyone has a right to feel safe without feeling threatened or victimised," Queensland Police Service said in a statement.
