Raiders G Jackson Powers-Johnson suffers groin injury Week 3 vs Saints - Raiders Wire
For the first time this season, the Raiders didn't have their entire starting offensive line on the field for every snap. Right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson left the game late, causing him to miss the final possession. The injury was revealed to be to his groin. And though the team doesn't appear to believe it's serious, they are not still in the process of figuring out if JPJ will miss any time.
On Monday, head coach Klint Kubiak called it a "sore groin" for JPJ, adding that they're "still evaluating" him.
Thoughout camp this year, JPJ was battling with second-year guard Caleb Rogers. And it was Rogers who came in for that final possession and who would start at the position should JPJ miss any time.
Rogers replaced JPJ for the latter half of last season and held up well, earning the right to battle for the spot this year. It sounds like whether he will end up needing to step up again, will depend on how the week goes for JPJ.
The Raiders will take the field again for practice on Wednesday as they begin preparations for their home matchup with the rival Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
