Raiders receive “A-“ grade for win over Chargers - Raiders Wire

The Las Vegas Raiders are off to an unexpected 2-0 start to the season. The Raiders pulled off an upset 26-14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 that showed their prowess as a team capable of making noise in the playoff race.

CBS Sports’ John Breech gave the Raiders an “A-“ in his grading of all 16 matchups that took shape in the NFL in Week 2, highlighting the full team effort that it took to pull off the win.

”Tucker was one of eight receivers to catch at least one pass in the game. Kirk Cousins' ability to spread the ball around has been a big reason the offense has survived without Bowers. The defense also deserves a lot of credit for this win. Malcolm Koonce and the pass rush absolutely terrorized Justin Herbert, with the defense totaling three sacks and forcing three turnovers. Through two weeks, the Raiders have been playing smart football in all three phases of the game and that's a big reason why they're arguably the most surprising 2-0 team in the NFL right now.”

Other teams that were given an A- or greater include the New Orleans Saints (A) for their upset win over the Baltimore Ravens, as well as the Cincinnati Bengals (A-) for their win over the Houston Texans, while the Cleveland Browns, who also pulled off an upset win in Week 2 like the Raiders, were given a “B” for defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Raiders’ full team effort was commendable. The big plays that they came away with early gave them life and the magnitude of a win over a division rival and Super Bowl contender in the Chargers, who now find themselves in a tumultuous 0-2 situation after carrying massive expectations into the season, makes the win an exceptional one for Las Vegas.
