Rajinikanth takes auto to Dharman sets in Mysuru, greets fans in viral moment

Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday took an autorickshaw to reach the sets of his upcoming film Dharman in Mysuru. Thalaivar's fans were delighted to see their favourite star use a common mode of transport and take the time to greet them.

Several fans had gathered outside the shoot location, hoping to catch a glimpse of Rajinikanth. The actor didn't disappoint. Instead, he surprised the waiting crowd when he arrived at the spot in an autorickshaw, flanked by his security team. Another video from the location showed security personnel attempting to close a gate to keep fans away from the sets after Rajinikanth arrived. However, as the cheers grew louder, the actor stepped out once again to greet the crowd.

Dressed in a maroon shirt and veshti, Rajinikanth waved at the fans gathered outside the set. Children were also seen waiting with their parents, with some fans recreating the actor's iconic hand gesture from Baba (2002) as they greeted him. Rajinikanth also took time off from the shoot and visited the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru during the early hours of September 30. However, pictures and videos from the Mysuru schedule have sparked speculation that Telugu actors Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela could also be part of the film.

A leaked video from the set appears to show Sreeleela in a pink-and-blue pattu pavadai, or half saree. Meanwhile, a picture of Raashii Khanna posing with Ram Pothineni and Rajinikanth has also been doing the rounds on social media.

According to a report by The Times of India, Raashii had initially shared the picture as part of a Mysuru photo dump but later deleted it after realising that Ram's casting had not been officially announced. Neither Ram Pothineni nor Sreeleela has been officially announced as part of the cast of Dharman so far.

In June this year, Kamal Haasan announced that the film he is producing with Rajinikanth would be titled Dharman with Ashwath Marimuthu at the helm. Sundar C and Cibi Chakravarthi had earlier been attached to direct projects with Rajinikanth, but were subsequently replaced.

The film's first-look poster showed Rajinikanth in scrubs, standing inside an operation theatre with a bloodied scalpel in his hand.
