Rams captain loves having Aaron Donald back: 'He's the hardest worker' - Rams Wire
As a team captain and defensive signal-caller for the Los Angeles Rams, linebacker Nate Landman has to make sure the defense is ready to roll at all times. On Monday, the unit flew around, holding the New York Giants to six points in the win.
One of the top storylines from the game was the return of Aaron Donald, who ended his two-year retirement. Donald was brilliant and looked just as good as he did the last time we saw him. Not only did he play well, but he also elevated the level of play from the entire unit.
After a successful day, Landman was interviewed in the locker room, as Sports Central LA captured his words about the legend's work ethic and influence.
"He's just got a presence about him, you know," said Landman. "You feel that greatness, a huge catalyst, and again, confidence boost. When I'm 5 yards back and I see 99 out there, I know good things are going to happen. He lifts up that room. He elevates our whole defense, and everybody wants to perform and be better for him.
"We don't have any pressure on him, but he's just a stud. He shows up every day. He's the hardest worker. In the short amount of time I've worked with him, you can see why he's the best, man. So glad to have him. Excited to see the stretch."
Donald's work ethic is why he was able to return as flawlessly as he did. Donald played 33 snaps, recording three tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pressure. The pressure extends his streak of recording at least one per game in every contest he's participated in since the stat was recorded.
