Recap of Cowboys draft picks for 2027, 2028 after Porter trade - Cowboys Wire
The Dallas Cowboys continue to push all their chip into the middle, just two years after they announced to the world they would. Jerry Jones has pulled off another big trade, adding cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Week 4 move to help bolster the club's troubled defense.
Dallas traded two draft picks, a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick, in order to acquire the fourth-year star who has yet to suit up in a game this season. Porter's been citing a back injury after he and the club were unable to agree to an extension before the team's self-imposed Week 1 deadline. Pittsburgh refuses to negotiate with players in season.
On the Cowboys' side of things, it's yet another trade of future draft picks in order to augment their 2026 roster. There's been so many moves, it's hard to keep track of just what picks Jones still has in his man purse.
Following the acquisition of Porter, Dallas has just three 2027 picks and six 2028 picks.
Here's a recap of what they have, and what's been sent out.
