Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) T. Harish Rao has termed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy taking credit for the Miyapur lands case win in the Supreme Court as “credit chori”.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said it was the BRS Government till 2023 that had won many land cases in court to protect government lands. He alleged that the Chief Minister was after the District Collector concerned for sale of 550 acres lands in Miyapur even before he got a copy of the Supreme Court judgment.
Of the 192 hearings in the Miyapur lands case, 86 were argued by C.S. Vaidyanathan, appointed by the BRS Government, and only 11 hearings had taken place after the Congress had come to power.
He alleged that the previous Congress Government weakened the Greyhounds land case of Manchirevulu in 2010 by sending a Government Pleader to argue the case instead of the Advocate General. On May 19, 2017, the KCR Government filed an appeal and a High Court Division Bench gave its judgment in the government’s favour on December 31, 2021. The Supreme Court had given the final verdict in the 142 acres land case on August 1, 2023, to secure the land to Greyhounds.
The 30-year-old compound wall of Greyhounds facility was demolished overnight, and within two days, a new compound wall was constructed after leaving 10.10 acres of land to private persons. It was also shown as zero-value registration land in the Gandipet SRO document 8886/2026 when the land value was ₹45.39 crore, he claimed.
He alleged that it was registered in the name of Dream Valley (Santosh Reddy) without payment of the 7.5% registration fee. Later, another 20 registrations were done to take ₹1,000 crore worth of government land. The land was still in the name of Greyhounds (Police Department) in the Bhu Bharathi records.
The Revanth Reddy Government had not even appealed against the cancellation of the notification on another 10 acres land acquired for the Greyhounds Firing Range. The total value of the Manchirevulu land scam was about ₹2,000 crore, the BRS leader stated and added that it was the BRS Government that had sent Goldstone Prasad to jail.
