Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the launch of ‘Praja Balam’ (People’s strength) programme after the Sankranthi festival, where he would visit every village to meet people and farmers to interact with them.
Addressing a meeting of progressive farmers and agriculture scientists at Hakimpet in Vikarabad district on Saturday, he said all the MLAs and MLCs would be with the farmers interacting with them in the light of El Nino conditions. “It is our responsibility to be with the farmers and guide them when they are going through a tough time due to El Nino,” he said.
The Chief Minister urged the farmers’ support in tackling the El Nino by staying away from water-intensive crops in the Rabi season. ‘Don’t get influenced by the opposition parties and go for paddy and waste your money. Instead, heed the government’s appeal and cultivate dry crops and vegetables to earn money,” he said.
