Russian strikes kill seven in Ukraine

Russian forces launched a broad assault on the industrial city of Pavlohrad in southeastern Ukraine on Thursday, killing seven people and injuring 76, including several children, as Moscow intensified attacks on logistics and economic targets. Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said Russian forces used drones, artillery and aerial bombs to strike five districts of Pavlohrad, a rail and logistics hub serving a coal-mining region. The city had a pre-war population of about 120,000. In Kyiv, a Russian attack on an Ukrnafta petrol station injured four people, while drones hit office buildings and storage areas, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. The strike appeared to be the first jet-powered drone attack on a petrol station in the capital. In Dnipro, two people were killed and five wounded when a Russian strike hit a Bunge sunflower oil facility, one of Ukraine's largest food plants. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called it part of a systematic campaign against American businesses. Russia denies deliberately targeting civilian sites.
