Sabarimala pilgrims will soon be able to travel directly from airports to Pampa, with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) planning to introduce air-conditioned bus services from the Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin international airports. The initiative is aimed at improving travel facilities for pilgrims during the 2026–27 Mandala-Makaravilakku festival season.
This initiative follows discussions between KSRTC officials and the airport authorities. According to officials, the service from the Thiruvananthapuram international airport will depart for Pampa at 9.30 p.m. A return service from Pampa is planned to arrive at the airport by 7 p.m. From the Cochin international airport, the service to Pampa will depart at 8.30 p.m. with the return service scheduled to arrive at the airport by 7 p.m. Special facilities for resting and accommodation will be provided at both the airports.
Tickets for the services can be booked on the KSRTC booking portal. Links for booking the tickets will also be made available on airline ticket booking websites. There will also be an option for groups to book chartered buses.
It has also been agreed that real-time flight schedule information from both the airports will be displayed at the Pampa bus station. The KSRTC is implementing this initiative to make the pilgrims’ journey more convenient and seamless, said Transport Minister C.P. John.
