Sabse zabardast community: Russian diplomat's Hindi steals spotlight at BRICS
A short video of Russian Embassy Press Secretary Petr Sizov speaking in Hindi is making the rounds online after he expressed his hopes for the future of BRICS.
In the clip shared by Asian News International (ANI) on X, Sizov, standing in a formal setting, smiled and said, βMain ummeed karta hoon ki ye sabse zabardast community hoga.β (βI hope that this will be the most powerful/strongest community.β)
The diplomat delivered the line with visible enthusiasm while discussing BRICS. His casual yet confident use of the Hindi word βzabardastβ, meaning formidable, powerful or excellent, stood out in the short clip.
The video, recorded in Delhi, showed Sizov in a grey suit speaking directly to the camera. The clip focused almost entirely on his hopeful statement about BRICS as a community.

The comments come as India holds the BRICS chairship in 2026, with the 18th BRICS Summit set to be held in New Delhi in September. BRICS is a grouping of major emerging economies that was originally formed by Brazil, Russia, India and China, with South Africa joining later.
The presidency comes at a time when the grouping has expanded significantly, making Indiaβs summit an important platform for discussions on economic cooperation, global governance, trade, development and collaboration among member countries.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Sep 11, 2026 20:01 IST
