Sachin Kumar Yadav on Friday (October 2, 2026) assumed charge as the Managing Director of Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON). Mr. Kumar, who currently serves as the Director of Kerala State IT Mission, is also holding additional charge as the CEO of Technopark and Director of the Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre (KSRSEC).
Meanwhile, KFON this month crossed a milestone of two lakh connections. As per the latest figures, KFON has 2,00,073 connections. This includes connections to households, government offices, institutions, businesses and free connections to Below the Poverty Line (BPL) families. KFON currently has a fibre network spanning more than 34,505 km and operates with the support of around 3,800 Local Network Providers (LNPs).
