‘Sale of govt jobs’ won’t be allowed, says Balochistan CM Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has warned that no government job in the province will be allowed to be sold, saying that no minister or secretary would be spared if credible evidence of such a practice emerges.

Chairing a meeting of the secretaries’ committee on Thursday, CM Bugti ordered an inquiry into complaints of irregularities in recruitment within the forest department.

He said anyone found guilty after an impartial investigation would face strict legal action, stressing that the government would not compromise on the employment rights of Balochistan’s youth.

The meeting also reviewed provincial departments’ performance and progress under the Annual Development Programme and recruitment procedures.

Orders immediate implementation of approved policy for merit-based recruitment through AI

Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan and other officials attended the meeting.

The chief minister said the government has made it clear that no job would be sold, adding that the government machinery was united on this policy. He directed officials to ensure transparency and merit in the entire recruitment process and warned that political pressure, favouritism or influence would not be tolerated.

He ordered the immediate implementation of the approved policy for merit-based recruitment through AI for all posts from Grade 5 and above, with tests conducted locally and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat providing assistance. He urged officers to perform their duties honestly and impartially. The meeting reviewed progress of development projects.
