SASSA confirms October 2026 grant payment dates

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed that social grants for October 2026 will be paid out over three days in the first week of the month. 

The Older Persons Grants will be paid from Friday, 2 October, followed by Disability Grants on Monday, 5 October and Children’s Grants on Tuesday, 6 October. 

Beneficiaries are reminded not to rush to collect their money on the first day, as funds will remain available in their accounts. 

For anyone who wishes to change their payment method or banking details, it is important to visit a local SASSA office with a valid ID and bank confirmation documents. You will also need to complete a consent form. 

SASSA advises that any changes should be submitted before the 19th of each month to avoid delays.
