Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday (October 3, 2026) launched the ‘Satyagraha’ digital platform to map resistance movements across the country.
This comes as Opposition leaders, civil society and youth-led organisations continue their protests in various parts of the country to demand the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, over alleged disparities in handling the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In a post on X announcing the initiative, Mr. Gandhi said that people across the country were fighting for their rights and were “too often fighting alone”. He then listed Gen Z, students, farmers, Adivasis, Dalits, and women among those involved in different struggles.
“‘Satyagraha’ is an initiative to bring these voices together on one map, the Congress leader added.
In a video posted on his social media handle, Mr. Gandhi said that the “truth was being suppressed” and that, as the Leader of the Opposition, it is his responsibility to help in the resistance against this. Later,he said the ‘Satyagraha’ platform had received over 10,000 responses in nine hours after it went live. “That’s how many struggles Indians are already fighting — quietly, convinced no one was listening. We are listening. Every submission will be read,” he added.
Satyagraha went live 9 hours ago. Since then, more than 10,000 people and groups have come forward. That's how many struggles Indians are already fighting - quietly, convinced no one was listening. We are listening. Every submission will be read. Already, we see stories in the topics of education, corruption, social justice, farmers, labour, health, women's safety, land and environment. Our team will go through each one, work out how we can help, and reach out where more details are needed. Where any genuine struggle needs to be amplified to be resolved, we will do it. This is only the beginning. Satyagraha isn't a one-day campaign. It will run for years, and it will stand with every andolan, big or small. Thank you for speaking up and for standing up for the Constitution. If you haven't yet, tell me your story 👉 https://t.co/hJ8iARr5La
The “Satyagraha” website works as a catalogue based on input from its users. There is a form through which an individual or group can list their issues, based on a number of categories.
1. Log on to the Satyagraha website.
2. Click on the ‘raise your voice’ button.
3. Navigate to the form and choose if you want to file your issue as an individual or a group.
4. Fill details like your name, State/Union Territory, district, and contact number.
5. Choose the category of your cause from the drop-down menu.
6. Elaborate on your issue in the ‘what do you want people to know’ box.
7. Share a photo or video of your cause (optional).
8. Fill out a captcha for verification and click on ‘raise your voice’ button.
The website lists three steps that happen after filing the issue.
It says that every issue is read and reviewed by the team. It is then pinned on a map of India in the state of the grievance. The map is available for viewing on the website.
The final step is that selected issues from the repository may be “raised through social media, press conferences, Parliament etc.”
