Savannah Guthrie recalls 'psychic' prediction Lady Gaga made about daughter - USA Today
Savannah Guthrie's daughter was truly "Born This Way."
The "Today" show host, who shares two children with husband Michael Feldman, recalled how pop singer Lady Gaga shared an eerie prediction about her first child, daughter Vale, while visiting the morning talk show in 2014.
Guthrie shared the memory during the broadcast's Sept. 14 episode, as she and her cohosts discussed the recent news of Lady Gaga welcoming her first child with fianceΜ Michael Polansky.
"When I was pregnant with Vale, and we didn't find out if it was a boy or a girl, Lady Gaga came on and she said, 'I think you're having a girl,'" Guthrie, 54, recalled. "And I said, 'Really? How do you know?' And she said, 'She told me.'"
The uncanny prediction threw Guthrie's "Today" co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, for a loop. "What! Vale and Lady Gaga had a connection?" she told Guthrie after the anecdote.
"I know! They had a psychic message in utero," Guthrie added.
Gaga made headlines last weekend after reports emerged that she and Polansky had become parents. The Grammy-winning singer had not previously disclosed that she was pregnant.
Gaga, 40, and Polansky, 42, went public with their romance in 2020 and got engaged in April 2024.
Polansky is a businessman and tech entrepreneur with roles at multiple nonprofits and companies. The couple met at a 40th birthday party for a mutual friend, Napster founder Sean Parker, at his Los Angeles home, where they talked for three hours, according to Vogue.
Gaga told USA TODAY in March 2025 that the couple's engagement inspired "Blade of Grass," a ballad from her album "Mayhem," which Polansky helped create.
"It's a love song between the two of us, but sometimes when we find love in our lives, it can also help us reflect on what it took to get there," Gaga said at the time. "Standing in my backyard, looking out at the ocean, I was thinking about all the people I've left behind or lost along the way. It was this incredibly happy moment and also bittersweet, which is why that record is haunting and beautiful."
