Officials of the South Coast Railway (SCoR), Vijayawada, celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, here on Saturday.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya administered the Ekta Diwas pledge to the officials and staff. Later, the employees organised a walkathon on the occasion.

The railway officials and staff reaffirmed their commitment to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and upholding the spirit of oneness and solidarity.

Meanwhile, Eluru district Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Y. Prasad Rao garlanded the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and paid tributes, in Eluru on Saturday.

Later, the ASP administered the Ekta Diwas pledge to the police officers.
