Section 22-A issues will be resolved soon, says Ponguleti

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government was implementing, in phases, the 12 measures announced by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the Legislative Assembly to address long-pending land issues under Section 22-A of the Registration Act.
Government Orders (GOs) 118 and 76 had already been issued for regularisation of houses in colonies and house sites in the Singareni region respectively, he said.
Mr. Srinivas Reddy, along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and others distributed regularisation certificates to beneficiaries from 44 colonies of the LB Nagar constituency at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium.
He said the government had resolved the issues concerning 44 of the 64 colonies in the constituency in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directions. The government had issued clear instructions to District Collectors to address the problems irrespective of the political affiliation of the representatives in the area, he said.
Referring to GO 118, the Minister said Mr. Revanth Reddy had promised its implementation in LB Nagar when he was the MP from Malkajgiri and that the government had fulfilled the commitment.
Mr. Srinivas Reddy said the government would resolve within a month the problems relating to some more beneficiaries in Medchal and Rangareddy districts under GO 118. He assured residents that their houses would not be demolished and said properties facing restrictions imposed by the previous government would be regularised after due process.
The Minister said several colonies had remained under the 22-A prohibited-properties list and the 22-A restrictions had been in force since the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and alleged that some people were using the issue to spread misinformation.
Government orders aimed at resolving registration-related problems, including those of people who had not submitted applications earlier, would be issued within about a week, he said. The Chief Minister would make a formal announcement on the issue soon.
He also said the government was moving ahead with implementation of GO 76 for regularisation of house sites in the Singareni region. A three-member committee had been constituted for the purpose and the government expected to resolve the issue comprehensively within 45 days, he said.
The Minister said the government was also working on issuing Bhudhaar cards to farmers in rural areas on the lines of Aadhaar cards to provide a more comprehensive record of landholdings.
LB Nagar MLA D. Sudheer Reddy, Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy and LB Nagar Congress in-charge Madhu Yashki Goud were among those present.
