Dumas (10-5 MMA, 3-5 UFC) enters on a three-fight skid, which also includes a no-contest appearance. His last win came against Denis Tiuliulin by decision in August 2024.
Hernandez (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) sent the Meta APEX into a frenzy with his second-round submission of Hugo Guillon in his contract-earning appearance on Dana White's Contender Series earlier this month.
In a sensible world, a meaningless fight losing a fighter at the eleventh hour should result in a good old-fashioned fight cancellation. In a just world, fighters like Sedriques Dumas would've already been cut from the roster in the first place.
However, since we live in the non-stop content slop mills of 2026 where the UFC schedule and its contractual obligations reign supreme, we get a gimmick "cop vs. criminal" fight that somehow finds its way onto the main card (likely due to Mick Maynard's known fetish of force-feeding us lower-level big guy bouts on Fight Nights any chance he gets).
But as far as forecasting this fight goes, there's not much I can say about a Dumas fight.
Aside from Dumas showing no real signs of life or improvement, the man appears to be solely focused on picking up a check in the most opportune ways possible β making me basically blind bet against him at this point.
Luis Hernandez may still be an unproven UFC debutant on paper, but the stout middleweight appears to have a proper southpaw striking game and solid submissions to boot.
I suspect Dumas finds a way to shoot himself into a submission after taking a hard body kick in Round 1.
