SexBomb leader Rochelle Pangilinan addresses rumored rift with Jopay Paguia

MANILA, Philippines — Rochelle Pangilinan has addressed reports of a disagreement between her and fellow SexBomb member Jopay Paguia.

Rochelle acknowledged that disagreements can happen even among close friends and members of a group, but stressed that what matters is how conflicts are resolved.

She discussed the issue when she and other SexBomb members appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, September 16.

Before asking Rochelle about Jopay, Boy Abunda took her aside and brought up Jopay and Sunshine Garcia’s absence from the music video for SexBomb’s latest single, “Mama Mama.”

“Bakit sila hindi kasali sa music video and of course, hindi maiwasan itong pabulong na pinag-uusapan na diumano’y meron kayong hindi pagkakaunawaan ni Jopay. From the bottom of my heart, you may or you may not answer,” Boy said.

Rochelle chose to address the issue and shared her perspective on disagreements within the group.

“Hindi ko naman talaga ikakaila sa isang pamilya, sa mga magkakaibigan, nagkakaroon talaga 'yan ng hindi pagkakaunawaan. Like, naka-depende pa rin 'yan kung paano maging maayos,” she said.

She added that resolving a disagreement depends on whether both parties are willing to work things out.

“Case-to-case basis. Kung gustong maging maayos ng isa, magiging maayos talaga, e. Kasi lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya... sa kanila, sa lahat. General po ako lagi,” Rochelle said.

She explained that the group should have a common goal, particularly if they want SexBomb to continue for the long term.

“Isa lang dapat ang goal natin kasi, 'Ano ang gusto ninyo?' Tinanong ko silang lahat, 'longevity?' So, ito 'yung way natin na tatahakin,” she said.

Rochelle also talked about the responsibilities that come with her being regarded as the group’s leader.

“Kung gusto ninyo na maging lider ako, e, kailangan rumespeto tayo. Kailangan magkaroon tayo ng respeto sa isa’t isa. Kailangan magkaroon tayo ng work ethic. Kailangan magkaroon tayo ng discipline. Maraming kailangang gawin na mapagkakasunduan ng bawat isa,” she said.

She compared the group to a boat, saying its members need to work together and follow one direction.

“Kumbaga sa isang boat, kailangan isa lang tayo ng sagwan, kasi hindi puwedeng hindi kayo makikinig sa akin, tapos may gusto kayong iba,” Rochelle said.

“Mahihirapan tayo doon, hindi natin alam kung saan tayo pupunta.”

Rochelle also reminded her fellow SexBomb members of the legacy they have built together.

“Kasi nakagawa na tayo ng legacy. Hindi na tayo bata para mag-away-away pa sa ganito. Magpapa-interbyu dito, ganyan,” she said.

“Gagawan pa tayo ng tsismis. Ulam tayo… or pulutan tayo sa ganito.”

For Rochelle, the group’s focus should remain on their shared goal.

“Hindi na maganda para sa edad natin, so kailangan lang, isa lang tayo ng goal,” she said.

“Kung ayaw mo na, we’re good. Just say it.”
