She is a savage: Chris Hemsworth celebrates daughter's all-boys bull-riding win

Actor Chris Hemsworth is a proud father. The Thor actor shared videos on social media to celebrate his 14-year-old daughter, India Rose, after she won an all-boys bull-riding competition. Sharing glimpses of the event on Instagram, Hemsworth praised his daughter for holding her own against the boys and bringing home the trophy.

The actor, who married Spanish actor-model Elsa Pataky in December 2010, welcomed India Rose in 2012 and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, in 2014. Hemsworth often shares glimpses of his family life on social media, and his latest post offered a heartwarming look at his daughter’s achievement.

The post featured two videos, one showing his 14-year-old daughter holding on to a bucking bull in a dirt arena as she competed, and another capturing an emotional moment between father and daughter. In the second clip, Hemsworth hugged India, beaming with pride as he congratulated her on the win and called her a “champion bull rider”.

The videos also captured a playful exchange between the two. Before the ride, Hemsworth asked his daughter how she was feeling and how long she thought she could stay on the bull. When he suggested seven seconds, India was quick to correct him, confidently saying she could hold on for eight.

Sharing his excitement over her achievement, Hemsworth wrote in the caption, “Just wanna say my daughter is a savage. Only girl in the comp and took home the win. He revealed that the name was inspired by his wife, Elsa Pataky’s strong connection to the country, where she had spent a considerable amount of time. In an earlier interview in 2012, the actor had also shared that both he and Pataky were drawn to the name and felt it simply “fit”, regardless of whether they had a son or a daughter.

The actor’s connection to India also extends beyond his daughter’s name. During the 2019 promotional tour for Men in Black: International, Hemsworth spoke about filming the Netflix action thriller Extraction in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. He described the experience as both intimidating and exciting.

Meanwhile, India Rose, the eldest of Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky’s three children, has previously appeared on screen. She played Love in the 2022 Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder.
