She's 40, not 20: Fans rally behind Katrina amid trolling for postpartum appearance
Actor Katrina Kaif's rare public appearance with husband Vicky Kaushal at the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations sparked plenty of attention online, but not all of it was kind. After the actor was trolled over her postpartum appearance, fans were quick to rally behind her, reminding social media users that she is 40, not 20, and that a woman's body can change after pregnancy and with age.
An X user shared a video of Katrina from the red carpet and questioned why women “neglect their self-care post-pregnancy”. The post quickly drew criticism, with several users defending the actor and calling out the comments about her appearance.
Author Sakshi Narula was among those who hit back at the troll. She wrote, “What makes you think she is neglecting herself? She is Katrina effing Kaif and she looks gorgeous. A woman's body changes after pregnancy and with age. Why should a grown older woman look like a 20-year-old in her 40s and 50s? Why does she have to fit into your body and beauty standards?"
"She is a new mom and raising a baby. Why don't you losers who do nothing but post bs on social media develop more compassion than judgement for women and their issues for once? Why don't you mind your own business if you cannot act like a grown man?” she added.
Another user then criticised Katrina's makeup at the event, writing, “Yeah, but still her particular make-up at this event. She looks like next door bhabhi...Cannot believe is this Katrina effin Kaif... I’d blame it on the general makeup (sic).”
Narula responded to the comment with a sarcastic reply: “Aye haye tumhe bada gyaan hai make up ka Vignesh. Tumhari bhabi hi hai woh. Vicky bhaiya ki patni (Oh, look at you, Vignesh, acting like you know so much about makeup. She’s your sister-in-law, after all — Vicky bhaiya’s wife)”
When another user compared Katrina with Malaika Arora, pointing out that she is also a mother, Narula again defended Katrina.
“Malaika is not a new mom and tbh she is at a different stage in her life. No two bodies are the same and everyone has different issues. Women don't need your judgement or comparisons,” she wrote.
Another X user shared pictures of Alia Bhatt and Katrina side by side. A user responded to the comparison, pointing out the age difference between the two actors and calling it unfair.

Katrina and Vicky were among several Bollywood celebrities who attended the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at their Mumbai residence, Antilia, on September 14.
The couple's appearance drew considerable attention as Katrina has kept a relatively low profile at public events in recent months. She and Vicky welcomed their first child in November, last year.
Several other Bollywood names also attended the celebrations, including Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra, and Rekha, among others.
While Katrina's appearance sparked discussion online, many fans pushed back against comments judging her appearance and comparing her with other actors.
