Should've taken wife: Rakhi Sawant slams Govinda over pandal visit with co-star Rani

Actor Rakhi Sawant has criticised Govinda amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor and his co-star Rani Swarnkar. After Govinda and Komal were clicked seeking blessings at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja during the Ganpati celebrations, Rakhi shared a video on Instagram questioning why the actor visited the pandal with another woman instead of his wife, Ssunita Ahuja.

In the video, Rakhi urged Govinda to accompany Ssunita, whom she described as having stood by him for four decades. She questioned his decision to be seen with another woman and appealed to him to resolve his differences with his wife.

“Govinda ji, kya dusre ki biwi ko le ke ghoom rahe ho? Kaun hai woh? Aap apni biwi ko le ke ghoomo na, Ssunita ji ko. Kitni pyaari hai humari Ssunita,” Rakhi said. Rakhi went on to remind Govinda of his long marriage with Sunita and the family they built together. “Yaar, chaalis saal nikaale, aapke bachche paida kiye, aapke bachche bade kiye. Aapka dil bada hai, yaar. Aise kya karte ho? (She spent forty years, gave birth and raised your children. You have such a big heart, so why are you doing this? she said.

She then appealed to the actor to let go of their differences. The internet sensation also questioned why Govinda did not visit Lalbaugcha Raja with Ssunita during the festive celebrations. “Apni biwi ko lekar jaana chahiye, jiske saath aapne chalis saal guzaare, Sunita ji ke saath. Main aaj tak aapka saath de rahi thi, Chichi bhaiya. Galat baat hai. Aap toh mere itne acche mitr hain. Ye Rupa kya hai? Ye galat baat hai, bahut galat baat hai (You should have taken your wife with you, Ssunita ji, the woman you have spent 40 years with. I have supported you all this time, Chichi bhaiya. This is wrong. You are such a good friend of mine. What is this Rupa? This is wrong, very wrong.)

Her comments come amid attention around Govinda’s appearance with Rani Swarnkar, with the actor’s personal life once again becoming a topic of discussion during the Ganpati celebrations.

In August, after Govinda and Rani were seen together, his wife Ssunita also criticised the actor, saying he was “carrying around a girl his daughter's age” and “should be ashamed”.

The situation became more complicated when Ssunita, during a phone conversation with Rakhi Sawant, claimed that Govinda and Rani were planning to marry and said this was why she had withdrawn her divorce petition. Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, later rejected the claim, saying there was no question of the actor marrying for a second time and expressing hope that Govinda and Ssunita would sort out their differences.
