The 59-year-old is applying for bail at the Randburg magistrate’s court and faces five charges including rape, trafficking in persons and the sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl.
Sibiya has denied raping an 18-year-old woman, telling the Randburg magistrate’s court the two had consensual sex and remained in contact afterwards.
His legal representatives have been informed of the state’s intention to add the charge.
