Three Snabbit employees thought they were sharing a cheerful workplace update. Instead, their candid remarks about getting paid on days with few assignments have opened up a debate on social media, with some questioning the arrangement and others urging viewers not to judge their work from a short clip.

The video, shared on X, featured three women dressed in Snabbit’s signature pink uniforms, speaking directly to the camera about their experience working for the company. They began by encouraging others to join, saying that the perks are good.

β€œDuty aaye toh jao, duty na aaye toh na jao, aur uske paise bhi milte hain. Bas subah aake lock-in kar do. Hum teeno ki bas subah ek duty aayi thi aur abhi nahi aayi kuch (If a duty comes in, you go; if no duty comes in, you don't have to go, and you get paid for it too. You just have to come in the morning and lock in. The three of us only had one duty in the morning, and nothing has come up since,” one of the women said.

The woman recording the video then mentioned that their boss had visited the area that day and asked them to be more presentable for customers opting for the service.

Despite the feedback, the women maintain a positive tone about their workplace and encourage others to apply.

β€œJisse Snabbit company mein aana hai, woh aa sakte hain,” they say towards the end. (Anyone who wants to join Snabbit can do so.)

However, their comments about getting paid even when no duty comes in soon became a talking point. Some social media users questioned the arrangement, suggesting that the employees were earning money without doing enough work.

Others pushed back against that interpretation, arguing that the video did not capture the pressures of working in app-based services. One user pointed out that poor customer ratings could mean fewer assignments, adding that workers often struggle to find time to eat while trying to maintain ratings above four stars.

β€œDid you hear they said they got scolded? These app-based services don’t work as per your imagination. They must be having bad ratings so no one calls them,” the user wrote. The user further argued that the women had to work hard to secure good ratings and could lose their jobs if their performance did not improve.

The clip has since opened up a wider discussion about gig work, employee expectations and how much can really be inferred about a job from a short social media video.- Ends
