Social security, welfare fund board pension distribution from Thursday

The State government will begin the distribution of social security and welfare fund board pensions for September from Thursday, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s office said. The Finance department has sanctioned ₹1,068.79 crore for both categories of pensions. ₹957.93 crore has been sanctioned for the social security pensions, and ₹110.86 crore for welfare fund board pensions.

In the case of the social security pensions, ₹531.62 crore will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of beneficiaries. Pension money totalling ₹426.30 crore will be distributed to homes via primary cooperative credit societies, the Finance department order said. The pension distribution has to be completed by October 5, the order said.
