When you walk through the doors of the newly opened Sole & Co Foot Lounge in Glenanda, Johannesburg, one thing becomes instantly clear: this is not your average beauty salon. There are no frantic background noises or conveyor-belt treatment vibes here.

Instead, you are greeted by a curated space designed for one clear purpose—to let you put your feet up, breathe out, and leave the rush of daily life at the door.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo J-Dee and Shayne Flynn, Sole & Co was born from a simple yet ambitious vision: to bring a fresh, specialised concept to their local community.

“We did not want to open just another traditional salon,” the couple shares. “We wanted to create a dedicated haven specifically focused on foot care—a place where people can come in, relax, share a laugh, and genuinely enjoy a well-deserved hour away from everyday pressures."

Getting to opening day was a true labour of love. J-Dee and Shayne poured their hearts into every layer of the business.

From designing the warm, inviting interior to hand-selecting every piece of decor, crafting the treatment menu, and even formulating their very own bespoke Sole & Co foot-care retail range, every detail reflects their personal touch and passion.

That dedication paid off in spectacular fashion when Sole & Co officially opened its doors on September 12, 2026. The local response was immediate and overwhelming—within their first three days alone, the lounge welcomed 57 clients through the door.

“The response has been more than we could have ever hoped for,” said Shayne. “Seeing people already booking their next appointments and recommending us to their friends and family has been incredibly special.”

For the Flynns, Sole & Co is far more than just a business venture. It represents a shared dream-built side-by-side—a local sanctuary rooted in community, warmth, and exceptional care. 

With an electric start under their belt and a growing base of loyal clients, J-Dee and Shayne are well on their way to building a brand that Johannesburg knows, trusts, and loves, one step at a time.
