Pune Police have registered a case against a 32-year-old biker for allegedly overtaking Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol’s security convoy on September 13.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8.30 pm while the minister’s convoy was passing through Sanchaiti Chowk in Shivajinagar.

Police officer Eshwar Laxman Bhikule, who was deployed for Mohol’s security, filed a complaint against Shubham Vijay Vanit, a resident of Nana Peth.

Police alleged that Vanit was riding his two-wheeler at high speed and overtook the convoy in a negligent manner, endangering other motorists and pedestrians.

Speaking to India Today, Mohol’s Officer on Special Duty, Vinod Satav, alleged that the biker was under the influence of alcohol and had lost control of his vehicle.

“He repeatedly breached the Y+ security cover provided to the Union Minister of State by the central government. This was a serious security breach,” Satav said.

Shivajinagar police have registered a case based on Bhikule’s complaint. Further investigation is underway.- EndsPublished By: Aprameya RaoPublished On: Sep 15, 2026 19:57 IST
