Speeding Scorpio hits minor on Assam highway; two arrested after chase

A speeding Scorpio hit a minor on National Highway 36 in Assam’s Nagaon district on the night of September 30 and fled the spot, triggering a police chase that ended with the vehicle being intercepted.

After the vehicle fled the accident spot, police launched a chase and managed to intercept the Scorpio at Nonoi in Nagaon.

The vehicle, bearing registration number AS-02-AA-0150, was stopped during the pursuit.

Following the incident, an agitated crowd vandalised the Scorpio, causing damage to the vehicle.

The injured minor was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.TWO ARRESTED

The Nonoi Police Outpost has arrested two people linked to the Scorpio involved in the incident.

The identities of the two accused have not yet been disclosed.
