Sylvia Main ShanghaiPublished: 8:00pm, 5 Oct 2026China’s Communist Party’s mouthpiece has published a 10-day series highlighting the prospects and resilience of the country’s economy under its 15th five-year plan, following President Xi Jinping’s closely watched meeting with US President Donald Trump.The series, published by People’s Daily from September 25 through the National Day holiday period, ran under the pen name “Jinxuan”, which is widely believed to be associated with the National Development and Reform Commission, the country’s top economic planner.
“China has the world’s largest and most comprehensive manufacturing system, a vast consumer market, enormous market space, well-developed infrastructure and a strong pool of talent … its growth momentum and economic resilience as a major country continue to strengthen,” one of the articles said.
