State reels from issues, Vijay shooting in London: Stalin after raid on DMK leader
While Tamil Nadu is “reeling” from a series of issues, Chief Minister Vijay is busy “shooting in London”, DMK leader MK Stalin said on Wednesday, questioning the timing of an early morning raid on former state school education minister and party colleague Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi in Tiruchirappalli.
The raid was conducted in connection with an alleged Rs 100 crore private school fraud case. It also coincided with Vijay's first official overseas trip to London.
Training his guns on Vijay over the raid on his former cabinet colleague, Stalin took to X and alleged that the action was aimed at diverting people's attention from what he described as a deteriorating law and order situation in the state.STALIN LISTS ISSUES FACING TAMIL NADU
In a post on social media, Stalin cited protests by people affected by power cuts across Tamil Nadu, a protest by fishermen in Pattinappakkam and a demonstration by relatives of people missing in Nepal outside the Secretariat after they said they had not received proper answers.
He also referred to the shortage of Aavin milk -- a state government-owned dairy cooperative brand -- the double murder in Ramanathapuram, the killing of a government bus driver during a Vinayagar Chaturthi procession in Chennai, and an alleged incident involving a TVK functionary and a woman police officer in Ayanavaram.
“While the state is reeling from these and such issues without taking notice of anything, the Chief Minister is busy shooting in London,” Stalin tweeted.'RAID MEANT TO DIVERT PEOPLE'S ATTENTION'
Stalin alleged that the TVK government, unable to address these issues, had “unleashed the weapon of a raid” on Anbil Mahesh to divert people's attention.
“We will legally fight this blatant act of political vendetta. Conducting a raid against the Opposition will not pacify the people's anger. This government will soon realise that false allegations will not stand in a court of law either,” he said.- EndsPublished By: Sayan GangulyPublished On: Sep 16, 2026 18:42 IST
