Studs and duds from New York Giants' Week 3 win over Tennessee Titans - Giants Wire

The New York Giants weathered the season-ending knee injury to star quarterback Jaxson Dart this week, so what's a Nor'easter? With some help from the weather, they smothered the visiting Tennessee Titans in a familiar-faces matchup.

It certainly wasn't a pretty win, but it was a win nonetheless. The Giants are now 2-1 under head coach John Harbaugh, and face a favorable upcoming schedule.

Here's a look at some studs and duds from Sunday's 12-7 win over the Titans.

The Giants rookie kicker converted all four field-goal attempts on one of the nastiest weather days in recent memory. He hit from 27 and 30 yards out and added two 39-yarders.

Schmitz was overmatched by the Titans' defensive front, specifically All-Pro nose tackle Jeffrey Simmons. JMS did gather himself in the second half, but overall, it was another uneven performance by the fourth-year pro.

Skattebo had a 100-yard day -- 60 rushing and 40 receiving -- on a day the Giants needed their running backs to step up.

The punt returner shied away from several punts, letting them roll deep into the Giants' territory. He did return two punts, but for a total of 12 yards.

The rookie had another strong game with 11 total tackles (eight solo), with one for a loss and a pass defensed.

Nagy was up against it, playing with a new quarterback and facing inclement weather. That shouldn't give him a free pass for the horrible red-zone play call in the first half. The Giants were running the ball at will and had a first-and-five on the Titans' five-yard line when Nagy decided to call a direct snap to Skattebo that lost seven yards. The Giants ended up with three points instead of seven.

Winston drew the start and played just well enough to win the game, completing 14 of 22 passes for 118 yards with no touchdowns, but he did not commit a turnover, either. He had a key 15-yard scramble for a first down to keep a drive going.
