Surabaya Logistics Company Claims Unawareness of Harassment Allegations During Recruitment Process

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com - PT Hersindo Logistic has stated that it is unaware of any allegations of sexual harassment against job applicants. This issue recently surfaced on social media.

The legal counsel for PT Hersindo Logistic, Amseki Tanaem, suspects that the act was committed by an individual within the company. However, so far the company has not received any official reports regarding these allegations.

“The company remains fully open to victims who feel wronged by these actions to come forward for clarification and to provide any evidence,” Amseki explained on Sunday (20/9/2026).

He confirmed that the HR personnel mentioned in the viral post resigned on September 14. However, he claimed not to know the reason behind the resignation.

“I’m not sure about the reason because I haven’t read the resignation letter,” he added.

Amseki also addressed the claim regarding applicants being required to submit a photo holding their ID card.

According to him, the recruitment process at the company has traditionally required applicants to bring their documents in person.

“As far as I know, that’s not the case, because the company has always required applicants to only bring the necessary documents during recruitment,” Amseki said.

When asked about the procedure involving filling out two links related to the recruitment process, Amseki admitted he did not know the specifics.

“Honestly, I don’t really understand about that,” he said.

He emphasized that he serves the company solely as legal counsel, thus he is not familiar with the detailed recruitment mechanisms applied.

“I’m just the legal representative. I don’t really understand that matter; I don’t know how it actually works or how it is,” he added.

Earlier, a post went viral on the threads account @tikusgarong000, where the user claimed to have experienced sexual harassment while applying for a job at a logistics company in Surabaya.

The victim attached their personal data found in two online forms they filled out during the application. They noted irregularities in the process, specifically being asked to fill in personal data and provide a photo holding their ID card.

“Usually, reaching the interview stage only requires bringing documents, but this company asked to fill out 2 links first—one was for personal data, but this data was extremely private, even including a photo holding an ID card, I swear. I attached the evidence,” they wrote on the account on Sunday (20/9/2026).

The victim grew suspicious after witnessing a previous applicant leave the HR officer’s room looking frightened and rushed. When it was their turn for the interview, the HR officer allegedly began sexually harassing all the female candidates, including the victim.

“I really didn’t expect it. The HR officer who conducted the two-hour interview sexually harassed all female candidates,” they explained.

The modus operandi varied, ranging from requests to massage thighs, remove pants, to other inappropriate acts intended to prove that the applicant was not a lesbian.

“To friends who want to apply for jobs, be careful. I don’t want anyone else to become a victim. Oh, and this HR officer is also active on Threads. If you see this, repent immediately for the sake of your wife who just gave birth - be afraid of karma from your behavior,” they concluded.
