Suspect arrested for stealing windows, ceiling fans from Ogun school - The Guardian Nigeria News
Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 20-year-old man, Oyeleye Moshood, for allegedly burgling Al-Lateef Group of Schools, 75 Bibire Community, off Olomu, Ifo Local Council of the state.
The suspect was allegedly caught after removing sliding windows, electrical wires, two ceiling fans and metal fittings from the school building.
The Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, in Abeokuta, yesterday.
Ganzallo said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by the proprietor of the school, Animasaun Jelili, at the Ifo Zonal Command.
ptember 23, 2026, informing him that the school gate had been locked from inside, which was unusual at that time of night.
The proprietor said the guard attempted to gain access to the school premises but noticed that someone was inside.
However, when the intruder heard footsteps, he fled the scene, leaving behind his jalabia.
Ganzallo said the operatives immediately swung into action after receiving the report and used the abandoned clothing to track the suspect from one neighbourhood to another.
He said the suspect, who lived close to the school, attempted to escape again when he realised that the operatives were closing in on him, but was overpowered and arrested.
The commander added that the suspect and the recovered items had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ifo Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
