West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said that he will meet both Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Adani Group’s chairman Gautam Adani for future investment talks.

The State Chief Minister also added that the environment in the State was not industry-friendly during the past political regimes and that they will transform the situation to attract investors.

“In New Town, the Adani Group’s 2,000-bed hospital and foundation stone-laying ceremony will take place. Gautam Adani ji is scheduled to visit on September 24. I also spoke to Anant Ambani over the phone. His company is also interested in coming; they invited me to Mumbai. After Ganpati celebrations I will meet Mukesh ji and Anant ji,” Mr. Adhikari said at a business event in Kolkata on Friday (September 11, 2026).

He added that investors from across the country and outside India are interested in investing in West Bengal, and in the next eight months the people of the State will see a steady flow of work being done by their government.

Mr. Adhikari was speaking at the Style Bazaar’s unveiling of the largest wardrobe event in Kolkata ahead of the Durga Puja shopping season, through which they attempted to set a record in the Guinness Book of World Records. The CM said that the new Style Bazaar has committed that they will have 250 stores in the State rising from the current 110 stores, which will help in generating more employment. He also added that Style Bazaar has set a target to invest ₹5,000 crore in the next three years.

“They have also assured me that they will set up a solar plant in West Bengal. They have acquired 100 acres of land for this. In total they will purchase 1000 acres of land,” Mr. Adhikari said.

“With this initiative, we wanted to take that everyday symbol of fashion and transform it into an experience that brings people together and celebrates the spirit of Pujo,” Shreyans Surana, Chairman & Managing Director, Style Baazar, said while commenting on the event.
