Syahganda Nainggolan Named New Government Communications Chief - Tempo.co English

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto appointed Syahganda Nainggolan as head of Indonesia’s Government Communications Agency (Bakom) and Fadli Tri Hartono as its deputy head at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday.

The appointments were based on Presidential Decree No. 106/P of 2026 on the appointment of the head and deputy head of the Government Communications Agency. The decree was issued in Jakarta on October 1, 2026.

During the inauguration, the officials took an oath pledging allegiance to the 1945 Constitution and promising to uphold all laws and regulations in carrying out their duties in service to the nation and state.

They also pledged to uphold professional ethics and perform their duties to the best of their abilities with a full sense of responsibility.

Syahganda, an activist and political analyst, succeeds Muhammad Qodari, who previously served as head of Bakom. Under a separate presidential decree, Qodari was appointed secretary and member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres).

Prabowo also inaugurated the members of Wantimpres under Presidential Decree No. 107/P of 2026.

Pratikno was appointed chair and member of the council, while Muhammad Hatta Rajasa was appointed deputy chair and member. Qodari was appointed secretary and member.

Other Wantimpres members include Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, Muhammad Quraish Shihab, Agum Gumelar, Chairul Tanjung, Said Aqil Siradj and Rocky Gerung. The council has a total of 24 members.

After taking their oaths, the newly appointed officials signed the inauguration documents in the presence of Prabowo. The president then signed the documents.

Prabowo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming and other officials attending the ceremony subsequently congratulated the newly appointed officials individually.
