T.N. BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran condemns instances of ‘contamination’ of breakfast served to students

BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday (September 24, 2026) criticised the TVK-led government, headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, over alleged instances of contamination of breakfast meant for students in State-run schools in Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur districts.

Referring to media reports over these incidents, wherein students were hospitalised, Mr. Nagenthran expressed shock and said that children’s lives were under risk “in the guise of providing breakfast.” He further criticised the TVK-led government over the alleged lack of quality checks and hygiene audits in this regard.

He called for initiating severe action against officers and contractors who were behind these incidents and insisted on undertaking inspections at schools to ensure that the quality of breakfast provided to students is up to the mark.
