Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has urged the Centre to take up the construction of a six-kilometre long double-decker elevated corridor between L.B. Nagar and Hayatnagar in Hyderabad, accord immediate approval for the southern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), approve the Hyderabad-Amaravati Greenfield Expressway, and sanction other crucial road infrastructure projects.

In a representation submitted to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on Monday (October 5, 2026), on the sidelines of the Chintan Shivir, Mr. Reddy sought the Centre’s support for key infrastructure projects that would accelerate economic growth, improve connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, enhance access to tourist destinations, and address traffic congestion in Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad-Amaravati Greenfield Expressway, he said, would improve connectivity between the two Telugu States and facilitate the movement of cargo from the dry port in Telangana. The project is expected to boost business activity and promote industrial development.

The Roads and Buildings Minister also sought the Union Cabinet’s immediate approval for the northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR). He said the State government was prepared to bear 50% of the land acquisition cost for the 161.518-km Sangareddy-Narsapur-Toopran-Gajwel-Jagdevpur-Bhuvanagiri-Choutuppal stretch.

Mr. Reddy also urged the Centre to take up the southern section of the RRR on par with the northern section. He said the project would be crucial for the proposed Bharat Future City, industrial parks, and the development of radial roads.

The Minister also sought approval of three Rail over Bridges (RoB), including a four-lane RoB at Kothagudem bypass in Bhadradri Kothagudem, two-lane ROB in Sultanbad in Pedapalli district and a four-lane RoB in Pagidipalli-Nadikudi Railway section.

Recalling Centre’s approval for the development of 6+2 lanes — including service roads — on NH-65 between L.B. Nagar and Malkapur section, he said that people requested for viaducts instead of RE walls in sections with heavy concentration of structures. He requested for expansion of Hyderabad-Vijayawada-Machilipatnam NH-65 stretch into 6+2 lanes to be expedited.

He also sought speedy approval for a series of projects aimed at improving road connectivity and boosting tourism in the State. Mr. Reddy requested the sanction of five ropeway projects worth ₹1,230 crore under the Parvatmala scheme at Yadagirigutta, Nalgonda, Nagarjunasagar-Nagarjunakonda, Ramagiri Fort in Peddapalli and Khilla Ramalayam in Nizamabad. In addition, he sought approval for an elevated corridor through the tiger reserve forest area on NH-765 leading to Srisailam and requested ₹1,227.75 crore under the CRIF scheme for 33 road development works covering 511.68 km across Telangana.
