Taylor Swift 'Cleveland!' lyrics detail Travis Kelce wedding - USA Today
Taylor Swift is tuning out the critics and celebrating married life with Travis Kelce in her new song "Cleveland!"
The pop superstar released the track Friday as one of four additions to "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore," an expanded edition of her 2025 album. The project also includes the new songs "Patient Zero," "Pink Clouding" and "Babylon."
While the other tracks explore troubled relationships, fleeting euphoria and nostalgia, "Cleveland!" is a love song about Swift's husband and his Ohio roots. Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, and the song's title and lyrics appear to reference both his hometown and the "New Heights" podcast he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
Swift sings about Kelce taking her to Cleveland and showing her the Heights before declaring him the "love of my life."
The song also contains what appears to be a reference to Swift and Kelce's wedding. In its final chorus, Swift changes the wording to note that "now I'm wearing white," seemingly nodding to the couple's July 3 nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The lyric goes: "He already took me to Cleveland, now I'm wearing white / So hate all you like, this is the love of my life."
The wedding reference arrives after Swift spends much of the track confronting the scrutiny that has followed her public life and relationship. She revisits familiar criticism about her appearance, fashion choices and dancing before making it clear that Kelce's opinion matters more to her than outside commentary.
"And with all of that money, why's she dressed like trash? / When she smiles, it's annoying, and have you seen her? / Stumbling clumsily? Would you even call that dancing?" she sings. "The taste of me is acquired, but it's his favorite dish / He says I look like an angel, they say, 'I hate that b****' / There, that house with the porch is where he lived as a kid."
Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and the couple announced their engagement in August 2025 and married the following summer.
"Cleveland!" is among Swift's first new musical releases since the wedding. "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" follows the original album's October release and adds four tracks to its lineup nearly one year later.
Swift announced the expanded edition Sept. 23 on Instagram, saying the additional music was inspired by fans’ enthusiasm for the original album. The four new songs are available digitally now.
