YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) received the biggest shock in Rajam constituency where it was defeated in all four ZPTC segments and won only four MPTC seats out of 66.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) nominee Palavalasa Pushpavati defeated her nearest YSRCP candidate Tankala Prabhavati, winning the Regidi Amadalavalasa ZPTC segment with a margin of 10,668 votes, the highest majority in the North Andhra districts of Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, and Parvatipuram-Marki (Parvatipuram-Manyam) district.
TDP MLA Kondru Murali Mohan said that the TDP registered spectacular victories in his constituency with the effective implementation of welfare schemes and developmental works taken up with ₹400 crore. He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh for giving special focus to Rajam in the last few years.
“YSRCP won Rajam Assembly segment in 2014 and 2019 also but tasted bitter defeat in 2024 Assembly elections and now in local body elections. The people would repose faith in TDP in 2029 general elections also,” said Mr. Murali Mohan while speaking to media here.
