The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has stepped up its door-to-door campaign in minority dominated areas of Vizianagaram on Friday, reaching out to Muslims and Christians voters in several localities including Ward 53 in the Cantonment area.
TDP candidate S. Anuradha Begum, along with TDP senior leader Mohammad Abdul Matheen interacted with residents in the Ganesh temple region, Bazar street, Collector’s office road and other localities.
The party observed that YSRCP won by huge majorities in wards with significant minority populations. Against this background, the TDP sent senior leaders to campaign in the wards to highlight the welfare measures introduced by the Chandrababu Naidu-led government for the benefit of Christians and Muslims.
Ms. Anuradha said that the Cantonment area was known for its religious harmony which was protected by TDP government. Mr. Matheen expressed confidence that Ms. Anuradha would secure a decent majority in the ward with the support of people from all communities.
