Telangana CM asks Ganesh mandap organisers to share details of invitees with police for better security

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged organisers of Ganesh mandaps to share details of the venues and guests invited, with the local police commissionerates to facilitate security and traffic arrangements during the festival.
Addressing a review meeting on Ganesh celebrations in the Assembly on Saturday (September 12, 2026), he said the government had revived the tradition of conducting the review to understand the problems faced by festival organisers. He appealed to organisers to provide advance information about the mandaps and the guests being invited.
Such information would help the police take precautionary measures and respond effectively to any unforeseen incidents, he said. Advance details of mandap locations would also facilitate traffic management and the deployment of security personnel, he added.
Investments can be attracted to Hyderabad only when the city remains peaceful, the Chief Minister said, stressing the need to ensure that law and order was not disturbed during the celebrations. He sought the cooperation of mandap organisers in maintaining peace and security.
Mr. Reddy said the State provides free electricity to Ganesh mandaps, a facility he claimed was not provided anywhere else in the country. Organisers were asked to apply to the concerned authorities to avail the benefit.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that arrangements for Ganesh idol immersions were incorporated into the design and construction of lakes being developed in the city, on the lines of the facilities created for Bathukamma celebrations.
