In a significant step towards resolving long-pending issues related to lands listed under Section 22-A, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has announced relief for owners of patta lands that were converted for residential use without obtaining NALA (Non-Agricultural Land Assessment) permission.
The State government has decided to allow registration of eligible lands upon payment of the prescribed NALA charges, paving the way for the regularisation and registration of thousands of properties that have been facing hurdles for years.
According to orders issued through Memo No. 48062/ULC/A1/2026, District Collectors have been given clear guidelines to process eligible applications within a stipulated timeframe and ensure speedy disposal of pending cases.
The latest decision is part of the Telangana government’s broader efforts to address long-standing 22-A land issues and fulfill assurances made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The Revenue Department has already issued five separate orders aimed at resolving various categories of land-related disputes and registration problems.
As part of these measures, the government has constituted a high-level committee and issued guidelines in line with GO 118 and GO 76. Registrations have already been permitted for houses, plots and flats classified under 22-A that possess approvals from agencies such as GHMC, HMDA, DTCP and municipal authorities.
The government had earlier issued orders to clear decades-old pending Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) applications. With the latest move, another major obstacle concerning patta lands where the NALA conversion process remains incomplete has also been addressed.
Minister Ponguleti said government decisions intended to benefit the public must be implemented effectively at the field level. He directed Revenue officials to execute the policy decisions with sincerity and commitment, keeping in mind the aspirations and expectations of the people.
The Minister also instructed Revenue authorities to continuously monitor the implementation of measures taken to resolve 22-A land issues and ensure that eligible landowners receive the intended benefits without delay.
