Telangana nursing student, 18, found dead under suspicious circumstances at home
An 18-year-old nursing student, who had returned home to her native village in Telangana to spend her college holidays with her family, was found dead with injuries on her body under suspicious circumstances.
The deceased, Harini, was a nursing student at a private college near Khammam and a resident of Telanganaβs Bhadradri Kothagudem district. She was at her home in Vengannapalem village on Tuesday when the incident took place.
According to police, Harini's mother, Rajeshwari, had gone to a relative's house in the same village and, upon returning, realised that her daughter was missing.
She then began searching for her, following which Harini was found dead behind the bathroom in the house, and several injuries were visible on her body.
The injuries have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. Harini's mother has expressed suspicion about a person living in a neighbouring house and sought a thorough investigation.
Police have not established the involvement of any individual so far and the exact cause and circumstances of Harini's death remain under investigation.
Harini's father had died a few years ago, after which her mother had been working as a daily-wage labourer to support and educate her two daughters.
The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, while a clues team was also called to examine the scene and collect evidence.
